One of its most important acts of worship is sacrifice. Coronavirus severity and various government restrictions Due to the current situation, various questions are being asked by Muslims about Eid prayers and Qurbani. Eid Al-Adha: Date, Importance, History And Significance Of Bakrid

Eid-ul-Adha 2020, Bakra Eid or Bakrid will be celebrated on July 31, Friday in India. The "festival of sacrifice" honours the willingness of Ibrahim, the messenger in Islam, to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God's command. Muslims worldwide celebrate Bakrid by sacrificing a male goat as a symbol of the sacrifice made by Ibrahim. The families feast on the goat's meat and also distribute it to the poor. Devotees also offer the Eid al-Adha prayers at the mosque, wear new clothes and greet each other. Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of the lunar year. It is also when Hajj, a pilgrimage in which the followers of Islam are required to complete once in their lives, takes place. Ibrahim's Sacrifice It is said that Ibrahim (AS) experienced a dream one night, in which Allah (SWT) told him to sacrifice Ismail (AS), his beloved son. At first, Ibrahim (AS) believed this was the devil playing tricks on him and he immediately disre...

Why is PETA not against Eid-al-adha (bakrid)? Why does PETA not rise against Bakra-Eid? Why does PETA want to ban Jallikattu and not Bakrid? Why is PETA silent on Bakrid in which lakhs of animals are murdered?

Well, yes! PETA does rise against bakra-eid or any festival of that kind that support animal sacrifice. Even many of the Muslims also support the idea of not killing animals. And of course,  it's not only hard but   impossible to justify killing,  either it be of any living being. I won't be justifying it rather I'll be trying to focus on the reasons, in which, I hope, you may find relevance. Since it's religiously followed, it's always a critical concern to raise. And this is not because public is inhumane towards animals but because my faith teaches something other than not killing. What's the visualization if you see thousands of animals getting killed? It's simple! This religion teaches no mercy. Muslims are heartless and brutal. Isn't it? Well, yes this act of sacrifice makes them appear to be. But I would like to share the reasons behind the sacrifices which are rarely known: Minimum of one-third of the sacrificed flesh needs to be distributed amon...

In India, what will happen on Eid al-Adha? Will Muslims be allowed to sacrifice animals, which include cows?

It is mentioned in sura “Al-An’am,” or “Cattle” that: “There is not an animal on the earth, nor a flying creature flying on two wings, but they are people like unto you.” (6.38) Thus “animals living on the earth” include those living in the water – fishes, reptiles, crustaceans, insects, as well as four-footed beasts. Life on the wing separately mentioned. “Tair,” which is ordinarily translated as “bird,” is anything that flies, including mammals like bats. In our pride we may exclude animals from our purview, but they all live a life, social and individual, like ourselves, and all life is subject to the Plan and Will of Allah. We have no right to destroy or kill these creatures, even flies and insects what to speak of birds and beasts. We never creates them to destroy. The Holy Qur’an said that they are people like you. They are also citizens of this planet and different countries. They are also under the protection of God and Governments. It is the duty of government to protect it’s ...

What is the importance of Eid al-Adha (Bakrid)?

Eid al-Adha is one of the important festivals of the Muslim community. It is the festival of sacrifice according to the Holy Quran. As depicted in the book, Allah ordered Prophet Abraham to sacrifice his own son Prophet Ismael. As the devotee of Allah, he was ready to sacrifice his only son and the almighty was so happy with his decision that he exchanged Ismael with a ram in time of slaughter. In this way, Abraham proved his devotion to Allah. To remember this sacrifice, the Muslims devotees around the world on that day sacrifice  Qurbani Bakra . It is the ritual to sacrifice the domestic animal which is most dear to them. If they don’t have any, then they have to buy goats a few days before the Eid to sacrifice on that day. It is also a way to spread love and brotherhood among all. The sacrificed animal has to divide into three parts. While one part they have to keep for themselves, the other two parts have to be distributed among poor people and friends & family. The importa...
